Easy Steps to Set Up SmartPitch for Baseball. See other Tabs for Cricket & Golf Drives
Practice Mode Setup & QuickStart
1
Open the SmartPitch app, and choose the Type of Activity you wish to measure (Baseball/Softball Pitching, Baseball/Softball Hitting, Cricket Bowling, or Cricket Batting).
2
Choose Custom Location Mode, click Start New Session, and enter a Name. QuickStart is a handy option for 1st time users.
3
When using Custom Location Mode, Select PRACTICE, click the Side of the Screen Corresponding to Handedness (Right side for right-handed, Left side for Left-Handed), and enter the correct Distance Rubber to Home in the bottom left corner menu.
4
Place the smartphone camera on a Stationary Object facing the moving ball. A good location is 30 feet to the side of the Rubber (or Home) and 0 feet behind it, although other locations will also work. See diagram below. Remember to choose the actual distance Rubber to Home in the bottom left of this screen.
60.5-ft
5
Place the Red Horizontal Line near the Player's Head. This does not need to be precise; anywhere near the pitcher's body is OK. QuickStart skips this step. On the next screen, mark where the rubber and plate, or wickets are by Moving the 2 Red Vertical Lines to where those objects appear on the screen.
6
Start practicing and SmartPitch will display and call out the results.
